LIVID TO RETURN BIGGER & BETTER IN 2005
Livid, one of Australia’s most anticipated yearly outdoor music festivals,
will be taking a year off in 2004 to return bigger and better in 2005.
The Livid Festival, Australia’s longest running outdoor music festival,
has a history of bringing a diversity of new and established acts to the Australian
public, from cutting edge up-and-comers to those that have earned the full weight
of the “legend” label.
In recent years Livid has featured headliners such as Linkin Park, The White
Stripes and Jurassic 5 (2003), Powderfinger and Oasis (2002), and during it’s
15 year life a host of other luminaries such as The Cure, Green Day, Morrissey,
Lou Reed, The Offspring, Garbage, Muse, Devo, Sonic Youth and hundreds of other
Australian and international artists, many making their first headlining appearances
in this country in front of Livid’s always enthusiastic and energetic
audiences.
Given the scarcity of headline acts on this year’s international festival
touring circuit the decision has now been made to allow Livid a one year hiatus
in order to ensure the festival’s reputation for presenting only the best
in line-ups.
